Become a leader in the diving community with the NAUI Master Scuba Diver certification. This course will give you the in-depth knowledge and experience you need to safely and confidently lead others underwater. You’ll also get to experience the thrill of open-water dives in a variety of settings, expanding your skills and capabilities. With your success, you’ll proudly carry the most coveted and respected certification card in recreational diving.
During training, students will engage in a minimum of eight open-water dives, including the following required dives:
- Emergency procedures and rescue
- Deep/simulated decompression diving
- Limited visibility or night diving
- Underwater navigation – search and recovery – light salvage
You may also choose from many different dives for your elective dives, such as:
- Skin diving
- Environmental study or survey
- Air consumption (practical application)
- Boat diving

Planning Ahead
Increase your safety and readiness as a diver by enrolling in a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or NAUI First Aid course. Successful completion of the NAUI Master Scuba Diver course is a prerequisite for enrollment in the NAUI FIT course in preparation for professional membership as a NAUI Leader or Instructor.
