Conducted with a certified RAID instructor:
Academic Section: Self-paced on the RAID FREe-Learning platform. Covers drysuit types, mechanics, underwear selection, buoyancy dynamics, maintenance, and safety procedures. Includes digital manuals, quizzes, and final exam.
Practical Sessions: Focused confined water training to practice suit donning/doffing, buoyancy adjustments, emergency procedures (e.g., suit floods, disconnects), and fine trim control. May include open water application depending on center and conditions.
Emphasis on building confidence and proficiency before open water use.
Duration and Depth Limits
- Theory: Self-paced online.
- Practical: Flexible, typically 1-2 sessions in confined water; duration set by the dive center.
