Course Structure

1. Academic Development
Completed via RAID’s online FREe-Learning platform. Topics include:
- Types and mechanics of scuba equipment.
- Routine care, maintenance, and storage.
- Troubleshooting common problems.
- Equipment configuration and safety considerations. Students access digital manuals, complete quizzes, and pass a final exam at their own pace.
2. Practical Sessions
Hands-on workshop at the dive center:
- Equipment assembly, setup, and configuration.
- Demonstration of maintenance and repair procedures.
- Confined water session for setup practice (if applicable).
- Optional open water dive for real-world application.
Duration and Depth Limits
- Theory: Self-paced online (typically several hours to days).
- Practical sessions: Site-specific, usually 1-2 days in a classroom or workshop setting.
- No mandatory dives or depth limits (non-diving specialty with optional water elements).
Equipment Provided
The dive center provides access to various scuba equipment for hands-on practical sessions, including regulators, BCDs, and other items during the course.
No personal equipment required, though participants may bring their own for familiarization.
Certification
Upon successful completion of academics and practical skills, students receive a globally recognized electronic certification (e-card) issued by RAID. The certification is permanent and downloadable from the RAID portal. It recognizes expertise in equipment knowledge and maintenance, applicable worldwide.
