RAID Master Diver Course
The RAID Master Diver course is the highest non-professional recreational diving rating offered by RAID. It recognizes divers with extensive experience, advanced skills across multiple specialties, and comprehensive knowledge integration. This rating consolidates prior certifications and evaluates overall proficiency through academic review and practical assessments.
This program serves as a milestone for recreational divers and a stepping stone toward professional levels, such as High Performance Diver or Divemaster.

Prerequisites
- Minimum age: 16 years.
- Minimum 50 logged underwater hours.
- Hold the following RAID certifications (or equivalents from recognized agencies): ◦ Explorer 30 ◦ Advanced 35 ◦ Master Rescue Diver ◦ Deep 40 ◦ Nitrox Diver ◦ Navigation Diver
- Completion of two additional RAID specialty courses.
- Completion of a medical questionnaire (physician approval required for certain conditions).
- Standard RAID forms, including liability release and safe diving practices agreement, via the RAID User Portal.
- For minors (16-17): Parental or guardian consent and signature on required forms.
Course Structure
The course focuses on review and evaluation rather than new training, conducted by a certified RAID Instructor:
1. Academic Development
Completed via RAID’s online FREe-Learning platform. Topics include:
- Review of prerequisite course materials.
- Integration of advanced skills and knowledge. Students complete quizzes and a final exam at their own pace.
2. Practical Sessions
In-water evaluations:
- Skill demonstrations and sign-offs from prerequisite courses.
- Scenario-based assessments to confirm mastery.
Duration and Depth Limits
- Theory: Self-paced online (typically several hours to days).
- Practical sessions: Site-specific, typically 1-2 days for evaluations.
- No new depth limits introduced; adheres to recreational no-decompression standards from prerequisites (up to 40 meters/130 feet).
Equipment Provided
The dive center typically supplies rental scuba gear, including tanks, regulators, BCD, weights, and specialty items as needed for skill reviews.
Participants should bring personal items such as mask, fins, snorkel, dive log, and certification cards.
Certification
Upon verification of prerequisites, successful completion of academics, and practical skill sign-offs, students receive a globally recognized electronic certification (e-card) issued by RAID. The certification is permanent and downloadable from the RAID portal. It signifies the highest level of non-professional recreational diving achievement.
